[A] Budget: Looking for Proposals
[B] Scope of Service:
(1) Vendor needs to provide lobbying and legislative representation services will assist the city with representation, information gathering, information dissemination, strategic advice, and support services, and also provide a flexible level of support, depending on the depth or scope of the City’s legislative and state government priorities at any given time to the government authority located in Grand Rapids, MI.
- On a real-time basis, inform the legislative manager of developments coming out of the legislative and executive branches of the state government that impact grand rapids
- Be available in a timely manner in person, by phone, text, or email to provide consultation and advice
- In response to city direction, act quickly on the city’s behalf to address rapidly changing developments in state government with impact on policy and legislative matters
- Effectively represent the city as needed, at task force and work group meetings, bill hearings, committee meetings, and provide timely written summaries to the legislative manager
- Provide timely written reports that track the status of the city’s legislative priorities and other legislation of interest on at least a monthly basis when the legislature is in session and as requested when they are adjourned for extended periods, delineating activities and actions for the city
- In between monthly legislative session reports provide timely updates to the legislative manager via phone, email, or text on developments relating to priorities and legislation of interest for city staff to quickly share with the mayor and legislative committee and city manager
- Work with the legislative manager to prepare written communications that convey the city’s position on state legislative, policy, and intergovernmental issues
- As necessary, work with staff in the preparation of legislative initiatives or amendments to proposed legislation.
(2) All questions must be submitted in written no later than April 12, 2019.

Performance of the work will be Offsite. Vendor needs to carry work in their office location.
